My ethos is that ‘Success Begins Within’, therefore in order to make the desired changes ‘out there’ the change must first start within the individual. This view is shared by many of the great leaders in history, religions and spiritual schools of thought:-
…Verily, God will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves…’ - Quran, Surah Ar-Ra’d, Verse 11
This process begins with understanding the self and the willingness to change.
I have 4 years of experience in integrative therapy and have had extensive experience in facilitating roles such as family support work and mentoring teenagers.
I have worked as a child therapist on behalf of the charity, Kids Company. I now practice privately in and around south/central London as well as working with mental health patients in a residential home.
I am very passionate about my work in facilitating individuals, but also feel a deep sense of importance within me in giving back to the community. Therefore I am also involved in other projects and charities such as IFAM (Islam For All Mankind). I have also appeared on Women’s AM (Islam Channel) as a guest speaker, offering a psychological perspective on various topics.
I am currently supporting another project that was set up in loving memory of a dear friend, Matt Palmer, who sadly passed away in June 2013. The Matt Palmer Trust aims to raise awareness for depression, particularly in men, and how/where to get help.
